Meditation. Admittedly I used to be a skeptic about in before I actually had a proper understanding about what it was and what purpose it served. I used to be under the impression that it was just for practicing Buddhists, but anyone can do it and enjoy its benefits. Today im going to shortly describe the main metal health benefit that daily meditation can provide us all, anxiety relief.

It is already a well known fact that meditation is practiced as apart of one of the most peaceful religions ever, to be Buddhist is to be seeking enlightenment through practicing Buddhism, but that is as far as we will be digging into the religion side of things, ill be giving a very brief description focusing on the psychological effects of meditation that anyone, religious or not can enjoy.

Meditation is widely used in western culture as an anti anxiety defense mechanism, meditating just once per day is shown to help reduce anxiety and stress and can also help in the long term too by it helping practicing your breathing and staying calm and relaxed. It takes just 10 minutes out of your entire day to stop worrying about all the little things that dont matter as much as you may think and to enjoy the present. Some studies have found that meditation is also effective against depression due to the chemicals that are released into our brain during meditation which improves our moods and can also even help you to get to sleep and improve your sleep through the night. Meditation is also shown to come with a few other different health benefits, making it an all around great exercise to get into.
